The
Bible is a missionary book through and through … The main line of argument that
binds us all together is the unfolding and gradual execution of a missionary
purpose. —Bruce Ker

Scriptures
for Praying for the Lost, Impoverished & Exploited Children and People
Part 1
A Simple
Way to Pray the Word
This prayer is mostly focused on
Elijah’s Cry as a labor to be sent into the harvest for the lost, children and the
poor but you can change it as you will to personalize it for you , your church
or ministry.
It’s very easy and simple to pray
the word and personalize it towards those you are praying for. I believe in
fully being led by the Spirit especially in intercessory prayer, which is to
say, basically praying for the needs of others to be met.
Justice is making wrong things
right. So part of our intercession is for God to make wrong things that
are being done to the children such as
sexual exploitation, child labor and situations such as poverty and starvation
which are Biblically against His will for them and for God to make them right
according to His word and will. In the end times, the subject of justice is a
primary focus in both God’s and Satan’s kingdoms. The false justice movement is
rooted in idolatry of humanism or occultism (harlot Babylon). The humanistic justice system lacks respect for human
dignity and fear of God. (measured by a legal foundation and
structure that is not under girded by biblical morality). There are many
people and organizations doing good works to try to stop the injustices in the
world but they lack one major thing. JESUS! They can temporarily fix the
problem in the natural but the root of all the wars, famines and injustices is
spiritual, sinful and satanic. Jesus is the answer and way out of all of these.
Below are some Scriptures, prayers
and how I would do it but you be led by the Spirit who makes intercession.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know
what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who
searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
1 Timothy 2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all that
supplications, prayers, intercessions, and
giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in
authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and
reverence. 3 For this is
good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires
all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For
there is one God and one
Mediator between God and men, the
Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all,
Also this type praying is a way to
build your faith, Romans 10:17 So then
faith comes by hearing, and
hearing by the word of God. and will give you confidence that your prayers
will be answered. 1 John 5:14 Now this is
the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His
will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we
ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
I must add that all our prayers
should be prayed to the Father in Jesus name. John 14:13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I
will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask
anything in My name, I will do it. John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I
chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your
fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give
you.
You can begin the prayers with
praying,
“Father, In Jesus name I
pray Your word over and for all the lost, impoverished and exploited children
and people of the Philippines, S.E. Asia and Oceania; those that we and
Elijah’s Cry are called to pray for and go to.
Isaiah 30:18c For the LORD is a God of
justice;
Prayer: Speak the verse first out loud. Then Pray, “Lord I thank You that You are a God of justice. I ask that You would
bring forth justice for those we pray over through out these regions of the
world and especially those that we and Elijah’s Cry are called to.”
Then you continue to pray as the Spirit brings other
thoughts to your mind formed from the basis of this verse expanding it further.
Psalm 89:14 Righteousness and justice are
the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face
Prayer: Speak the verse out loud. Then pray, “Lord, bring forth Your righteousness and justice from Your throne for
the lost, impoverished and exploited children and people on the streets and
anywhere in these regions of the world and minister to them in Your mercy and
truth through the laborers You will send to them.
Again you can continue to pray as the Spirit brings other
thoughts to your mind formed from the basis of this verse expanding it further.
For those of you that come from a Charismatic background you
can also pray in tongues as the Spirit wills which is also a form of
intercession. (See again Romans 8:26-27)
Now please if you don’t believe in this doctrine don’t let this become a
stumbling block for your prayers and giving because these children need our
help and we should be focused on being the Jesus they need with skin on, loving
them, praying for their protection, salvation, healing, deliverance and their
natural needs to be met.
Psalm 72:2 He will judge Your people with
righteousness,
And Your poor with justice. 4 He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, And will break in pieces the oppressor
This one for me is very simple. I would just remove a few
words and insert some words into the verse.
Prayer: Speak the verse out loud. Then pray,”
Lord I ask You to bring justice to the poor of the people, the children we are
praying for; Save these children of the needy, And break in pieces their
spiritual and physical oppressors.
Psalm 72:12 For He will deliver the needy when
he cries,
The poor also, and him who has no helper. 13 He will spare the poor and needy, And will save the souls of the needy. 14 He will redeem their life from oppression and violence; And precious shall be their blood in His sight.
Prayer: Speak the verse out loud. Then pray, “Father, deliver these needy children as they cry out who have no
helper. Spare them and save their souls. Redeem their lives from oppression and
violence as their blood is precious in Your sight.”
Pray these prayers with intensity and emotion from the love
and heart of compassion of Jesus. If you don’t have this, all you need do is
ask Him for it.
James 5:16 The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man
avails much.
Psalm 82:3 Defend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Prayer: Speak the verse out loud. Then pray, “Father, defend these lost,
poor, fatherless children and
people for whom we intercede. Do justice to them as they are afflicted and
needy.”
Matthew 9: 36 But when
He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were
weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He
said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is
plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His
harvest.”
Deuteronomy 10:18 He administers justice for the
fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing.
Prayer: Speak the verse out loud. Then pray, “Lord as You are moved with compassion for there we pray over send
those You would call as laborers and Elijah’s Cry into their lives to meet all
their needs and for a great harvest.’ ’Lord we thank You that you administer
justice to all these we pray for, that You love them and are providing for
them food and clothing for them and through Your chosen laborers and Elijah’s
Cry.”
Deuteronomy 14:29 And the Levite, because he has no
portion nor inheritance with you, and the stranger and the fatherless and the
widow who are within your gates, may come and eat and be satisfied, that
the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
Prayer: Speak the verse out loud. Then pray.” Father, give us Your heart for the lost and the impoverished, exploited and
street children so we can pray and give according to Your will so they can eat
and be satisfied. Thank you that as we do this You will bless us in all the
work of our hands.”
The next Psalm is so long but so
powerful I just added my words in italics to personalize it.
Psalms 10: (Speak the verse out loud) 2 Proud and
brutal people hunt down the poor. But let
them get caught by their own evil plans! 3 The wicked brag about their deepest desires.
Those greedy people hate and curse you, Lord. 4 The wicked are too proud to turn to you or even think about you. 5 They are always successful, though they can’t understand your teachings, and they keep sneering at their enemies. 6 In their hearts they say, “Nothing can hurt us! We’ll always be happy and free from trouble.” 7 They curse and tell lies, and all they talk about is how to be cruel or how to do wrong. 8 They hide outside villages and throughout the streets and in dark alleys, waiting to capture, harm or strike and murder some innocent victim. 9 They are hungry lions hiding in the bushes, hoping to catch some helpless passerby. They trap the poor and innocent children in nets and drag them away. 10 They crouch down and wait to grab a victim 11 They say, “God can’t see! He’s got on a blindfold.”
Prayer: Then pray 12 Do something, Lord God, and use your powerful arm to
help these children and those in need.
13 The wicked don’t respect you. In their hearts they say, “God won’t punish us!” 14 But you see the trouble and the distress, and you will do something. The children and poor can count on you, and so can orphans. Lord, You say You wish that none perish and all come to repentance and to make intercession for all men 2 Peter 3:9, 2 Timothy 2:1. We pray for these wicked men and women, that You save those that will be saved but for the protection of all these we pray over; for the rest of the wicked we pray15 Now break the arms of all merciless people. Punish them for doing wrong and make them stop.16 Our Lord, you will always rule, but nations will vanish from the earth. 17 You listen to the longings of those who suffer. You offer them hope, and you pay attention to their cries for help. 18 You defend orphans and everyone else in need, so that no one on earth can terrify others again.
Joel 3:3 They threw dice to decide which of
my people
would be their slaves. They traded boys to obtain prostitutes and sold girls for enough wine to get drunk.
Psalm 144:7 Reach down from heaven and rescue
me;
rescue me from deep waters, from the power of my enemies.
Prayer: Speak these two verses out loud. Then pray. “Father many of these who are we are praying over are being sold
and kidnapped to become sex slaves and used in so many other sick and wicked
ways. Reach down from heaven and rescue them out of these deep waters of
perversion and harm from the power of their enemies.”
Isaiah 42:22 But this is a people robbed
and plundered;
All of them are snared in holes, And they are hidden in prison houses; They are for prey, and no one delivers; For plunder, and no one says, “Restore!”
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus
said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such
is the kingdom of heaven
Matthew 18:10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these
little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face
of My Father who is in heaven.
Prayer: Speak the three verses out loud. Then pray.” Father the lost, children and the poor are robbed and plundered.
They’re ensnared and hidden away in a prison house of poverty, hunger, fear and
oppression. They are a prey for so many and no one delivers and there is no one
to restore them. Anoint, empower and provide for Your sent laborers and
Elijah’s Cry to go to these children to deliver them from their spiritual,
emotional and physical prisons that very few can see. Give Your sent laborers
and Elijah’s Cry the grace and help to do Your will in rescuing these children
from their oppressors. Bring them to Jesus and minister to their spiritual,
emotional and physical needs for such is the kingdom of heaven. Let no one
despise any of these we are praying for
as their angels always see the face of our Father in heaven. May their angels
protect them from every kind of harm.”
Luke 18: 7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to
Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge them
speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on
the earth?”
1 Timothy 2:1 Therefore I exhort first of all
that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for
all men,
Prayer: Speak the two verses out loud. Then pray. ”Father, as we intercede on behalf of those we pray for, ‘Give them justice
from their adversaries.’ ‘We seek You on their behalf and ask You to give us
the endurance to continually pray for their freedom and salvation so we won’t
lose heart.’ Answer now speedily Lord for they are in great danger every day
and deliver them from all the injustices as we as from Your faith in our
hearts.”
Malachi 4: 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the
prophet, Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 6 And he
will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the
children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
Prayer: Speak the verse out loud. Then pray. ”Father send forth the spirit of Elijah to the fathers, those in Your
Church; turning the hearts of the fathers to the lost, children and the poor that
they may no longer be blind to their plight and do something about it. Turn the
hearts of the lost, children and the poor to the fathers, those in Your
Church so they might receive Jesus and all the help He is sending them.”
Isaiah 40: 1 “Comfort, yes, comfort My
people.” Says your God. 2 “ Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out
to her, That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned; For she has received from the LORD’s hand,
Double for all her sins.” 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “ Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought
low; The crooked places shall be made
straight And the rough places smooth; 5
The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together;
Prayer: Speak the verse out loud. Then pray.” Lord comfort all those we are praying for as You send laborers and Elijah’s Cry to
them. Let them know their warfare has ended because You are there and their
sins are forgiven because You died for them. Give them double blessings for
their sins and forgive them because they know not what they do. Make Your sent
laborers and Elijah’s Cry a voice of one crying out in the wilderness of the
streets, ghettos, highways, byways, urban and rural areas of the Philippines,
S.E. Asia and Oceania where all these we pray over live. Make a straight way
and a highway into the desert of their lives and hearts for You to occupy for
all eternity. Make every valley in their lives high, every mountain low, every
crooked place straight and every rough place smooth so Your glory can be
revealed to them and they all shall see it.”
AMEN!

Scripture Prayers For
The Lost
The following are Scripture prayers that you can use to pray for
lost people. These prayers are based on the Word of God. You can pray them with
confidence and expectancy. In order to use them, you can also place the name of
any lost person or persons in place, praying for God to save them.
* Wisdom is that you pray only within your sphere of influence, calling and place of authority such as family, friends, co-workers, neighborhood etc. etc. Make your prayers specific and targeted.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that You will draw name(s) of person or people your are praying for to Jesus Christ in true faith
and repentance (John 6:44).
In the name of Jesus, I ask You, Father, to quicken those who are
dead in sins and trespasses (Ephesians 2:1).

to prepare them to hear and receive the Word of God (Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23).
Holy Spirit, I pray that they will understand the gospel when it
is presented to him/her so that the devil cannot snatch it away (Matthew 13: 5,
9).
Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus, I pray that the Word of God
will take root in their lives and bring about true salvation in their lives
(Matthew 13:6, 20-21).
Father, I ask that the pleasures of this world and the pressures
of life will not choke the Word of God that has been sown into their lives
(Matthew 13:7, 22).
Father, I pray that You will deliver them from the kingdom of
darkness and place them into the kingdom of Your dear Son (Colossians 1:13).
Father, I pray that they will receive the free gift of eternal
life through Jesus Christ the Lord (Romans 6:23).
Lord Jesus, I ask that they will not trust in themselves, but that
they will completely trust in You as his/her Savior and Lord (Galatians 2:16).
Holy God, I pray that You would grant genuine repentance to them,
a repentance that will cause him/her to hate sin and to turn from it (Acts
11:8; Luke 13:1-3).
Lord God, I pray that You would grant them genuine faith, a faith
that trusts in Jesus alone and surrenders to Him as Lord and Savior (Ephesians
2:8-10).
Holy Spirit, I pray that You would stir them out of their
indifference and complacency concerning his/her condition and his/her need of
the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 6:2).
I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that they would surrender
himself/herself to the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 14:9).
Father, I pray that You will send people continually into their
lives who will share the gospel with him/her (Romans 10:14).
Father, I pray in the name of Jesus that You will put a new heart
in them and that You will place Your Holy Spirit in him/her (Jeremiah 42:30;
Ezekiel 11:19-20).
Holy Spirit, I pray that You will cause them to hate sin and that
You will break the power of those sins that are hindering him/her from coming
to Christ (Mark 9:43-47).
Lord Jesus, I ask that they would surrender to You, denying themselves,
take up the Cross, and follow You (Luke 9:23).
Father, I pray that they will understand that their only hope for
forgiveness and acceptance with You is through Jesus' work on the Cross (1
Corinthians 1:18).
Father, I pray that they would not neglect the glorious salvation,
which is available through Your Son (Hebrews 2:1-3).
Lord Jesus, I pray that they will feel and know the burden of
his/her sin and will come to You for forgiveness and salvation (Matthew
11:28-30).
Father, I pray that they will make a genuine commitment to Jesus
Christ as the Lord and Savior of his/her life (Luke 14:24-33).
Lord Jesus, I pray that they will not be content with the
appearance of righteousness but will seek You for the transformation of his/her
whole life (Matthew 23:27-29).
Father, I pray that they will see that his/her good works are as
filthy rags in Your sight and that they will not save him/her (Isaiah 64:6).
Father, I ask that they would believe and trust Your Son that You
sent to be the Savior of sinners (John 5:24).
Lord Jesus, I ask that they would not die in his/her sins but
would trust You and receive eternal life (John 8:24).
Because You came into the
world to save sinners, I pray for You to save the lost in the Philippines, SE
Asia and Oceania who is a sinners and in need of Your grace and mercy (1
Timothy 1:13-16).

New Testament Intercessory Prayer List (This is not a comprehensive list. This list was compiled by Mike Bickle in July, 1999. This list was taken from www.ihop.org and then modified. These verses are from the NKJV.) Apostolic Prayers of Paul 1. Prayer for a true revelation of Jesus and the believer’s destiny The Father of glory, may give to you the SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the HOPE OF HIS CALLING, what are the riches of the GLORY OF HIS INHERITANCE IN THE SAINTS, and what is the exceeding GREATNESS OF HIS POWER TOWARD US (Eph. 1:17-19). 2. Prayer for the release of supernatural strength in the heart in order to experience God’s love That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, TO BE STRENGTHENED WITH MIGHT THROUGH HIS SPIRIT IN THE INNER MAN, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, MAY BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:16-19). 3. Prayer for God's love to abound in our heart resulting in discernment and righteousness And this I pray, that YOUR LOVE MAY ABOUND still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may APPROVE THE THINGS THAT ARE EXCELLENT, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being FILLED WITH THE FRUITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God (Phil. 1:9-11). 4. Prayer to know God's will, to be fruitful in ministry, and to be strengthened by intimacy with God We…do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may have a WALK WORTHY OF THE LORD, fully pleasing Him, BEING FRUITFUL in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; STRENGTHENED WITH ALL MIGHT, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light (Col. 1:9-12). 5. Prayer for unity in the church across a city or region Now may the God of patience and comfort GRANT YOU TO BE LIKE-MINDED toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, THAT YOU MAY WITH ONE MIND AND ONE MOUTH glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus (Rom. 15:5-7). 6. Prayer to be filled with supernatural joy, peace, and hope Now may the God of hope FILL YOU WITH ALL JOY AND PEACE IN BELIEVING, THAT YOU MAY ABOUND IN HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 15:13). 7. Prayer for Israel to be saved through Jesus Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for ISRAEL is that they may be saved (Rom.10:1). 8. Prayer for the release of apostolic ministry and to abound in love and holiness We rejoice for your sake before our God, night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face and perfect what is lacking in your faith? Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you. And may the Lord make you increase and ABOUND IN LOVE to one another and to all…so that He may ESTABLISH YOUR HEARTS BLAMELESS IN HOLINESS before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints (1 Thess. 3:9-13). 9. Prayer for the release of the Holy Spirit's power unto mature holiness Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it (1 Thess. 5:23-24). 10. Prayer to be equipped and prepared to receive the fullness of God’s destiny for the church Therefore we also pray always for you THAT OUR GOD WOULD COUNT YOU WORTHY OF THIS CALLING, AND FULFILL ALL THE GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS GOODNESS AND THE WORK OF FAITH WITH POWER, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thess.1:11-12). 11. Prayer for the Word to increase by the release of God's power to win unbelievers to Jesus Finally, brethren, pray for us, THAT THE WORD OF THE LORD MAY RUN SWIFTLY AND BE GLORIFIED, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you. NOW MAY THE LORD DIRECT YOUR HEARTS INTO THE LOVE OF GOD AND INTO THE PATIENCE OF CHRIST (2 Thess. 3:1-5). 12. Prayer that God would open a door of evangelism through releasing His power on the Word Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, THAT GOD WOULD OPEN TO US A DOOR FOR THE WORD, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak (Col. 4:2-4). 13. Prayer to be enriched with the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit leading to righteousness I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, THAT YOU WERE ENRICHED IN EVERYTHING by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so THAT YOU COME SHORT IN NO GIFT, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, THAT YOU MAY BE BLAMELESS in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 1:4-8). The Apostolic Prayer of Peter and John 1. Prayer for the impartation of Holy Spirit boldness through the release of signs and wonders They raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘Why did the nations rage, and the people plot vain things? The kings of the earth took their stand, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ.’ For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. Now, Lord, look on their threats, and GRANT TO YOUR SERVANTS THAT WITH ALL BOLDNESS THEY MAY SPEAK YOUR WORD, BY STRETCHING OUT YOUR HAND TO HEAL, AND THAT SIGNS AND WONDERS MAY BE DONE through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness (Acts 4:24-31). The Apostolic Prayers of Jesus [Consider the Apostle…of our confession, Christ Jesus (Heb. 3:1).] 1. The Lord’s Prayer In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. YOUR KINGDOM COME. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. GIVE US this day our daily bread. And FORGIVE US our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And DO NOT LEAD US into temptation, but DELIVER US from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen (Matt 6:9-13). 2. Prayer for anointed laborers in the Harvest Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore PRAY THE LORD OF THE HARVEST TO SEND OUT LABORERS into His harvest” (Matt 9:37-38; Luke 10:2). |
